The differences and similarities in the political and economic contexts faced by the 13 colonies and the Hong Kong colony

I think the similarity in the political contexts of the 13 colonies and the Hong Kong colony is that they were both being colonized by different countries, and also, that countries which settled in different locations had created colonies with distinct social, religious, political and economic structures.

Another similarity is that they were both being colonized by Britain under an unwilling situation. And finally the United States turned to be independence by having a revolution but Hong Kong colony's sovereignty was given back to China by making a bargain.

Besides, the political structures of the 13 colonies and the Hong Kong colony was similar is they both under the rule of England's King George III and Queen Victoria but not under a book of law. And they didn't have the political structures like the president, the Judiciary, the Executive or the Legislative in the USA after their independence.

In the economic contexts, Hong Kong colony was being more successful than the 13 colonies. The Hong Kong colony starting the trading while the 13 colonies was still farming. That's one of its difference. Also, the transportation of the Hong Kong colony was being developed too. Such as railways, airplanes, ferries and the Victoria Harbour which didn't appear or being developed in the 13 colonies. That's the second difference in the economic contexts of the 13 colonies and the Hong Kong colony.
